CLASS Advising

At the Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS), we support students who are:
  • Undecided / Exploratory
  • Pursuing admission to a professional program (Medical Laboratory Sciences, Occupational Therapy, or Pharmacy)
  • Seeking admission to a particular college/school
We have professional advisers who will work with you one-on-one. Our advisers are  here to help you meet your academic goals and refer you to appropriate campus resources.

Advising Appointments

You are assigned an academic adviser after attending New Student Orientation. Your adviser will establish a plan to help you matriculate into your chosen major as quickly as possible. They will also help you build a "parallel plan" that works best with your desired major to keep open your academic options. One advising appointment per semester is required in order to have your advising hold lifted and discuss your academic progression. However, your adviser is available as often as you need them.

Once you declare a major and meet the department admission requirements, you are eligible to be sent to your college/school. You can find more information about your academic performance and other major requirements through your DegreeWorks account.
