Undergraduate Studies - Intended Majors

When you applied to WVU, you might have selected a major on your application. However, if you didn't meet direct admission requirements for that particular major, you'll begin your academic career at Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS).

Once you fulfill the requirements for your major of choice, you'll move into your program's school or college.  

Undergraduate Studies – Intended Majors 

When you applied to WVU, you might have selected a major on your application. However, your high school GPA or SAT/ACT scores did not meet the direct admission requirements for that particular major.

In that case, you’ll begin your academic career at WVU’s Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success within the Office of Undergraduate Education.

Advising

Our advisers will work with you to meet the academic requirements of your major. We’ll also help you develop an academic plan so that you have choices on your road to graduation.

Major Requirements

We have partnerships with every degree-granting college at WVU. Once you meet your program’s requirements, you’ll move on to the school or college that houses your major.

Depending on the major you chose, you’ll be placed into an academic track.

HEALTH SCIENCES
Students seeking admission to majors in:
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Immunology & Medical Microbiology
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Pharmacy

SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES
Students seeking admission to majors in:
  • Business
  • Economics
  • Education/CDFS
  • Media
  • Speech Pathology & Audiology

STEM
Student seeking admission to majors in:
  • Engineering
